NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: Jr/Sr High School Physical Education/Health Teacher

REPORTS TO: Jr/Sr High School Principal

STARTING DATE: August 2025

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:

Shall be a graduate of a recognized college or university.
Shall hold a valid Michigan teacher's certificate with a MA (health) and MB (physical education) certification.
Must meet Highly Qualified certification requirements.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior experience teaching physical education/health.
Ability to work/teach in-person with an understanding of how to use Google Classroom and other online instructional tools.
Experience with Standards Based Grading.
Understanding of best practices in teaching used to increase student engagement, literacy, and student achievement/outcomes.
Familiarity with 504/IEP plans and accommodation strategies for all learners.
Knowledge and experience in highly engaging instructional strategies and MTSS.
Ability to work collaboratively with others with a positive/professional attitude.
Strong work ethic with excellent work habits and experience in working with junior/senior high students.
Ability to work with students at all academic levels and be a positive team member throughout the building and district.
Willingness to coach school athletic teams and/or advise school-related clubs/activities.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As per contract.
